Songs that Get Me Through

Dear You,

I am definitely one of those people that listens to sad songs when they're sad. It's liberating to hear that other people are going through similar, bad situations as I am and I'm not sorry for my habit. I keep a playlist on my phone specifically for when I'm feeling down and felt like sharing it with you today. The one on my phone is 26 songs but I thought it would be better to only share some of them in this playlist. Be forewarned, I have a lot of pop-ish in here but they're all really good.
Explosions by Ellie Goulding

Dear John by Taylor Swift

These 2 are definitely my favorites out of the list because they're really powerful and well written. Not that the other ones aren't I just think these are extraordinarily done and I've related to them quite a bit over the years.

Bluebird by Christina Perri

Specifically love her voice in this song

Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran

Definitely the most beautiful one in sound and lyrics, captures an interesting desperation

Girls Just Want To Have Fun by the Glee Cast

I specifically chose the Glee Cast version because it's slow and acoustically done adding this unique, sad atmosphere to the song in stark contrast to the original

What You Gonna Do by Hunter Hayes

This song has more of an angry undertone than the others do

Thinking Of You by Katy Perry

Another powerful one but it's a bittersweet kind of sad about the loss of a loved one (the sweet part being the good memories she recalls through the song)

Let Her Go by Passenger

Another bittersweet one, I really love the guitar parts in this one

The Moment I Knew by Taylor Swift

The one I almost always cry during, because it is sadly extremely relatable for me

White Horse by Taylor Swift

I feel like this is a good ending song because of it's certainty and finality

Anyways those are some of my favorite sad songs which I find are usually far more powerful and well written than most happy songs. Maybe it's easier to write out of pain than joy. I'd love to hear what you thought in the comments below!

Have an Amazing Day!
