Doctor Who Thoughts

Dear You,

I am an avid Doctor Who fan, I watched the entire (newer) show last summer and decided to start again with the tradition this year. I love the series for a variety of reasons but I've put some serious thought into the series and realized some things.

The producers could really never kill the Doctor, even though he's technically on his last life/regeneration right now because it would destroy the fans. The Doctor is a beacon of hope in a dark, lonely, dangerous world. He represents that somehow, even in the most hopeless of situations, everything will turn out alright, someone will always figure out a solution, whether it lead to defeat or compromise. Killing the Doctor would mean killing the hope in all of his fans.

One of my favorite C.S. Lewis quotes goes as follows:
"When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up"

I think the Doctor embodies this very well, he's over 1000 years old but he is one of the most childish people known. He isn't afraid to be who he is and if he feels like playing with a children's toy or hanging out with children, he will not hesitate to do so. He isn't afraid to be himself and I find it quite inspiring.

One other thing that I've specifically taken from Doctor Who is the amount of curiosity the Doctor has. He always desires to acquire more knowledge and solve the puzzles of the world. He isn't afraid of anything, be it human or Dalek, well that's a lie. He does get afraid but he never lets the fear get to him, he doesn't run from problems. While he may be afraid and see little hope in a situation he holds onto that small amount of hope, turns it into bravery, and protects the world from danger.

He's curious enough to find the problem then brave enough to solve it and I hope I will someday be just like that.

Anyways, those are just some of my general inspiring thoughts on one of my favorite shows which I happen to be slowly re-watching on Netflix at the moment. Any thoughts on Doctor Who or any of the wonderful qualities in this post? Leave me a comment below!

Have an Amazing Day!
